Gp130 (Glycoprotein 130) also known as IL6ST or CD130, is a transmembrane protein that is the founding member of the class of all cytokine receptors. The Gp130 gene is mapped to 5q11.2. Gp130 shows an apparent molecular mass of 130 kDa by SDS-PAGE. Gp130 is involved in the formation of high-affinity IL6-binding sites and in IL6 signal transduction. Soluble Gp130 has a role in modulating signals transduced by membrane-bound Gp130. Gp130 is an important part of many different types of signaling complexes. Gp130 molecules with mutations in either of these segments cannot transduce a growth signal. ScienCell's mouse Gp130 ELISA Kit ias based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Mouse Gp130-specific polyclonal antibodies are pre-coated onto 8 x 12 divisible strips. The mouse-specific detection monoclonal antibodies are biotinylated. The test samples and biotinylated detection antibodies are subsequently added to the wells and then washed with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB is used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB is catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changes to yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of mouse Gp130 in the sample that is captured on the strips.
